Paramus Veterans Home Residents Dine at VFW Post 5702
On Monday, October 24, 2011, approximately 20 residents of the Paramus Veterans Home enjoyed a meat loaf and mashed potato dinner at Franklin Lakes VFW Post 5702. The dinner, arranged by Post 5702 Service Officer Bob Linz, is part of Post 5702’s effort to serve veterans of all ages. The dinner is the fourth in a series of dinners hosted by VFW Post 5702 over the past few months.
Post 5702 also visits the Paramus Home several times a year to host Bingo games, and provides cash prizes for those with winning Bingo cards. Additionally, post members attend functions held at the Paramus Veterans Home and accompany the residents of the Paramus Home when they go on field trips to various locations.
Literally and figuratively, the dinner served to the residents of the Paramus Home could aptly be termed: veterans serving veterans.
