Ramapough Conservancy received word from the New Jersey State Historic Preservation Office that Ramapough Conservancy will be assisting the Ramapough Lenape Indian Nation in consultation analysis and discussion regarding the archaeological and cultural resource survey work (and protection work if the project is approved) for Pilgrim Pipeline’s proposed dual crude and refined product pipelines currently suggested to be routed along the spine of the Ramapo Mountains. The survey work benefits the entire Ramapo community as we endeavor to protect all cultural and historical resources in the proposed right of way. If you would like to volunteer to work on this project, please let us know. It will involve studying the proposed ROW, reading extensive archaeological reports and related records, attending meetings and conference calls and writing position papers on the resources which may be in jeopardy and in need of protection.
