Something about Massage4u in the Copper Tree Mall is rubbing me the wrong way. This is contrary to their marketing campaign, which appears to be aimed at rubbing customers the right way.
Having no first hand knowledge, I can only base my information on what is available via the Internet.
Their website – http://mydesigns2011.wix.com/oaklandspa, lists contact information as Tel. 201.677.0800, 350 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ 07436
The gallery of pictures is nice enough, but it was their links that interested me. There was a link to BackPage.com, but I’m thinking it was intended to link here: http://northjersey.backpage.com/BodyRubs/oakland-spa-there-is-only-one-new-management-23/16639368.
I thought it was a pretty cheesy looking advertisement.
Next, I clicked on their link for MasagePlaces.com, which is a guide that will “Rub You The Right Way” – and the reviews were pretty interesting. Suffice it to say, if it was my business, I would not link to reviews like that unless it would help business.
Next, I searched for the phone number, and that was pretty interesting also. I had to register for SpaHunters.com – which will really please my wife. There, I found numerous reviews and advice concerning Oakland Spa; and over the last 90 days their rating was 4 out of 5 – which is pretty good.
Most reviews were very positive, and customers seemed to have been rubbed the right way…but it is still rubbing me the wrong way.
There were reviews I wanted to read on RubMaps.com – but I’m too cheap to pay the registration fee.
As previously noted, I have no first hand knowledge on Massage4U, only what I can find on the Internet. If I was a different person, in different circumstances, perhaps I might get some first hand knowledge and this story would have a happy ending for me.
But, as Popeye always said, I am who I am – and that’s just a husband, a father, a neighbor trying to raise a couple of kids and keep a house standing – and Massage4U (Oakland Spa) in Oakland is rubbing me the wrong way.
This kind of marketing campaign gives a very bad impression – and makes it seem as if Massage4U is seeking to attract customers seeking illegal services.
I would suggest that the owner, Dal W. Song, address the issues with his web presence – at the least.

I’ve known about other places in Oakland – but like the author I don’t have first “hand” knowledge of what goes with them…. But a store front in Copper Tree Mall – that’s pretty arrogant.
This place has to be closed down. I don’t want to bring my kids to the pediatrician while this is going on. How could a place like this open in a strip mall?
There are 3 of these places in our town. There has to be something that can be done.
I think I saw some lady with a camera there yesterday taking a picture of someone going into the place.
Rubmaps.com has some good information about this place…
